Buddha, the Pet of the Day
Name: Buddha
Age: Three years old
Gender: Male
Kind: Asian Narrow Mouth Frog
Home: Sleepy Hollow, New York, USA

This is Buddha. He is an Asian Narrow Mouth Frog. Buddha was bought by a co-worker who didn't know anything about frogs and he eventually needed a new home. He was given to me because I have kept frogs before and offered to help. The best thing about Buddha is his singing (croaking). He loves to serenade the household when it is raining outside. He frightens us if the house is dark and he sings all of a sudden. He will often answer me when I laugh too. His tank could never be kept in the bedroom, or we would never get any sleep. Frogs do not make the best pets because you cannot play with them. Frog skin is permeable, meaning they soak up whatever touches them. Dirty hands and dirty water can make them sick! They will only eat live food and many people have a problem with feeding live food. I do not recommend frogs for pets for most people, but I still love my Buddha.
