Max
is special because he came home with me from a rescue organization
after being there for nearly two years. His original owners had him for
the first 24 years of his life but then gave him up for a new baby
cockatoo. As you can imagine, this was an incredibly difficult
adjustment for Max, so he went through some frustrating behavior
problems such as screaming and aggression. But Max really "clicked"
with me when I volunteered at the rescue so I was asked to foster him,
and since he's come home with me he's been absolutely wonderful! He no
longer screams excessively but now displays typical cockatoo exuberance,
particularly at sunset. He has never been aggressive with me, and seems
content and just happy to have a family once again. Max is very
affectionate and he loves to be petted and scritched on the head. He
will even lean his head on my shoulder to let me know when he wants to
be petted! Max is also very intelligent and likes to play with a
variety of toys. Max has found his forever home with me, and that makes
us both happy.
