Mary
is a quarter horse (she's an ex-cutting horse). Mary has only been
with us for about four years now, but we adore her. She's not doing all
that well lately, old age is setting in, but she's very special to us and
my children love and adore her. My toddler can even run around in and
under her legs and ride her alone! She's a really great trail riding
horse!
Mary's actually pretty lovey - if I ask her for a kiss she
will put her lips on my cheek and move them as though to kiss me! She
really loves the little kids though, and is very curious about them. She
hates to be tethered even to get her hooves trimmed... she gets
upset, but will stand quite still without being tethered! She can also
scare away any young gelding from their bucket of food... does it
everyday in order to finish off her penmates' meals!
I adore this horse. I was riding her for about a year before I bought
her. She was boarded at my sister's house and I had no intentions of
buying her, til the girl that owned her said she had a buyer for her. I
started crying my eyes out, so my husband said "I don't care what I have
to do for the money I'm buying you that horse!" She's awesome with the
kids! She's the best pet I've ever owned and I've had many!
