Ron, the Pet of the Day
Name: Ron
Age: Eight months old
Gender: Female
Kind: Hypo Tangerine Leopard Gecko
Home: North Central Texas, USA

This is my Leopard Gecko, Ron! When I first got Ron at a few weeks of age, I thought Ron was a boy and named her Ron Weasley. The smaller picture is Ron's baby picture. It turns out that Ron is a girl and I just tell people what happened and that I guess "Ron" can be short for "Veronica." Even though Ron might be a little Gecko, she is very smart! Ron knows when it's feeding time, she knows to lick her vitamin/calcium power from a dish when she needs it, she knows my face and she knows her own name. Ron right now is separated from her "love-to-be," Raine, an albino leopard gecko, until Raine is old enough to be placed in with Ron. (Raine is a baby right now). But Ron loves her home all to herself for now. I like to take her out of her tank every day and just let her rest on me to keep warm so I can look at her. I hope to get more then just two leopard geckos eventually, because they are so easy to care for and so adorable. :)

Anyone who is considering a leopard gecko should remember that Leopard Geckos make great pets! Even supervised children can own a leopard gecko, because they are very gentle and when adults they are extremely laid back. I've found that the Albinos can be a little more touchy though, Raine hisses at me. Other than that, Ron is an awesome little girl and she can live up and over 20 years! I hope I have her for a long time!
