What
do you get when you cross a rabbit and a basset hound? Iorek, the
Velveteen Lop Rabbit. With a touch of daredevil, big, sad eyes, and
ears long enough to trip over, Iorek's comical looks are only matched by
his silly personality. Faster than a speeding feline, able to leap tall
bookshelves in a single bound... look under the desk, look up in the cat
tree... it's a bird, it's a plane... nope, just Iorek looking for
adventure.
Iorek does mad dashes around the room, sliding on the
hardwood floors and leaping in the air, ears flying in the breeze. He
loves to climb and explore. He frequently plays in the cat tree, where
he tosses out the cat toys he doesn't like, and plays with the rest. In
one picture, he is tossing out a krinkle ball which does not meet his
strict standards, and in the other you can see him subduing an
evil, stuffed Furby... "Take that!"
When he's not on the go, he loves to eat, snuggle with our cat and his
other bunny buddy, and bump us with his nose to let us know he'd like
some attention. We recently adopted Iorek from Bunny Magic Rabbit Rescue.
Handsome, quirky, comical and energetic. We think he is just about
perfect, although, for his own safety, he really should have come with a
cape ;o)
Iorek is a character in a book called The Golden Compass - actually he
is an armored polar bear... by Phillip Pullman. Our other rabbit is
named Lyra.. also a character from the same book (one of my son's
favorites). I'm guessing it's Nordic. Iorek would like everyone to know
that there are still bunnies also up for adoption and waiting for
wonderful new homes. For information, visit Bunny Magic Rabbit Rescue.
