About Us
Puck, the Pet of the Day
Name: Puck
Age: The months old
Gender: Male
Kind: African Pygmy Hedgehog
Home: Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada

Puck is very special, because we almost lost him. When we first bought him, and I asked how to take care of him, we were not given some very important information about him. He stopped eating and he just slept all the time. I found out later this was because Hedgehogs need a lot of heat, and he was going into an unnatural hibernation. This would have resulted in his death had I not found out what was going on and bought him a big heating pad for under his tank, and a nutritional supplement to get him back up to snuff. We were not the only ones who bought a hedgehog from Puck's litter, but we are the only ones who stuck it out and nursed him back to health, the rest were returned. We now have a very healthy, very cute, and very friendly Hedgie. We hope that others will learn how to care for a hedgehog - or any pet - before bringing one home. Puck is a very special guy, and we love him.
