I
received Sebastian from a private pet store who could not sell him
due to his deformities. The poor guy was completely neglected in terms
of the high maintenance, special diet and equipment that iguanas need,
and displays serious effects of MBD (Metabolic Bone Disease), which
are sure to affect his life span and growth (he is very small for his
age). Aside from that, Sebastian is one very spoiled iguana and lives
in his very own iguana 'condo' built especially for him. He still
loves free roaming, and as soon as someone gets home from work or
school, he climbs down to the bottom of his enclosure where he clicks
at the sliding glass doors until someone opens them for him so he can
saunter down his ramp to come and visit. Sebastian is a sucker for
cantaloupe, mango and strawberries and will surprise us with just how
fast he can move when we hold up a treat from across the room. He
loves climbing (especially legs), and basking in a hot spot on the
floor from the window. For some reason he always rotates his body a
few degrees every few minutes in the sun as though he was making sure
to get an even tan! Sebastian is a very sweet natured iguana and has
never bit or tail whipped, and can be very social and curious when
he's in the mood. Although we have other reptiles, Sebastian most
definitely has a very special place in our hearts.
