This
is my Grandad's tortoise - he is actually a she, which we found
out not so long ago. The tortoise has always been known as Tommy and
that could never change, as that is what is she will answer to. She is
over 50 years old, we're not sure exactly how old she is because my
Grandad found her. She goes into hibernation every year, and when
it's time to come out again she bangs her shell on the box to let you
know she's ready to come out. She is forever chasing my Nan up the
garden, but these days she can run faster than my Nan!
