This
is Skippy, our pet rabbit. I picked him out of a litter on
Christmas Day when he was only four weeks old. My husband and I think of
Skippy as our firstborn (since we are newly married). His cage is kept
in our living room, but the only time you can find him there is when
he's eating or using his potty chair. Skippy is fully potty trained
and doesn't chew on the carpet or the furniture anymore (lucky for us
he has out grown that stage) so we trust him to have the run of the
house.
We never knew a rabbit could have such a strong personality before we
got Skippy - he sleeps on our bed at night and if we sleep in too long
on weekends he lets us know he's ready for his carrot tops or puff
treats by jumping on us and licking our faces. During the day when
he's hungry he will sit in the kitchen until we give him a treat (puff
treats and apples are his favorites). He will even take his own treat
right out of the bag. Skippy loves attention and lives to be snuggled
with and have his nose rubbed. He even watched TV with us. However,
most of the time we find Skippy laying on his spot on our bed. When we
get home from work we let him out in the back yard to run and jump and
chew on grass. He's like a little gymnast the way he does jumps and
layouts and full twists in the air. We are so lucky to have such a fun
loving and adorable pet. We think he looks like a little man with a
mustache in the picture.
