Meet
Tango, a Goffin Cockatoo. Goffins are often referred to as
Goofies, as they are big clowns who will do anything for attention
from somersaults to hanging upside down, flapping wildly and
squawking. When excited, their topknot points up, otherwise they have
a smooth headed appearance. Their big dark eyes and beak always give
the appearance of a perpetual grin. Goffins are also known as 'Velcro
birds' who love to be cuddled and loved on. Tango raises his wings for
that special 'underarm' scritch everyday, bows his head for head
scritches and will lay on his back in your lap as long as you provide
the attention. He's a pretty good talker but sounds remarkably like
Donald Duck. Tango lives in Fort Worth, TX with eight other birds and
his two human slaves. (This photo is 'digitally enhanced' by me, one
of his human slaves, both birds are Tango.)
