Here
is our li'l "super" prairie dog, Tater.
She's five years old, going on six. To be specific, she's a Black Tail
Prairie Dog. I had "adopted" her from a pet store when she
was just about six weeks old. Oh what a bundle of energy she is, too!
Besides following me and my boyfriend around the house when we're
home, she likes to bound up and down the stairs - she'll even climb
into our bed (which is upstairs) and hang out there for awhile. She
acts as our little sentry, staying upright on her chubby hind legs
while gazing out the living room window. And as you can see, she likes
to hang out with us on the couch while we watch TV, even using the
time to get a quick prairie dog snooze. She'll greet us with a hearty
"yahoo" as well as beg for treats (which consist of bread,
animal crackers, chips or sunflower seeds). And she likes Timothy Hay,
sometimes getting into the bag and needing added help in getting out!
Just recently, Tater found herself in our bed, but this time she
stayed snuggled down by where our feet were and slept... sometimes she
snores...
