This
is Puck, she is a two-year-old prairie dog. Prairie dogs are very
social animals and have one of the most advanced languages of any
animal species. "The Puckster" jumps up on her back feet,
stretches out her whole body, and screams "wooo-haaa!" every
time I walk in the door, cough or sneeze. She loves to flip over with
her feet sticking up and have her belly rubbed until she falls asleep.
She smiles whenever she meets someone new, giving them a kiss on the
nose, and she has a proclivity for talking extensively in her sleep.
While most prairie dogs only bond to their owners and can be very
aggressive to outsiders, Puck was raised around lots of people
constantly, and she loves to everybody, including dogs, cats, and any
other animal she meets, although the feeling isn't always mutual.
