Zeus
is an African Grey Congo. He has an extensive vocabulary and
helps socialize our baby parrots in the Nursery. Zeus has been a
guest at several functions. I was asked to be the guest educator at a
Progressive Women's League (the theme was Exotic parrots), Zeus showed
off his speaking ability. He has made numerous special appearances at
the Coastal Bend Caged Bird Club and appeared in the Newspaper. He
has been a guest for show and tell at schools. He visits shut-ins as
do several of my birds. He loves attention and is eager to sing along.
He lays on his back (like he's doing in this picture) only when he
wants to. Zeus enjoys playing ruff tag, with another African Grey
Congo (his girl friend) Venus. He has affectionate moments, but is
becoming more independent as he moves into maturity. Both Zeus & Venus
would give up their first born for a grape...
