We
were searching for a cage for my baby bunny in a pet store, when we
came across Petric. He was in a wire cage with another guinea pig, and
funny enough, he was trying to hide under the other pig for
protection. It was a funny thing to see, little Petric trying to hide
under an equally as small white guinea pig, you would have had to be
there to appreciate it.
Anyway, we immediately fell in love with him, and have had Petric ever
since, he and my bunny became fast friends. My bunny was very curious
and would investigate everything! Petric would join her on her
adventures. One day, they even realized that if you tipped over the
garbage can, you could probably find old food that had been thrown
away. They had a few extra meals on that adventure!
My bunny recently passed away, but Petric is still with us, I'm sure
he misses his buddy, but he is getting used to it. In a way, I think
that he also appreciates all the attention.
He loves to scuttle around and play. He's a very social pig, and likes
to make himself heard. One of his favorite new habits is to lick your
fingers. It's funny, because he licks them from top to bottom, not
missing a spot of skin. He loves spinach, carrots, and as a treat,
grapes. But, we sometimes call him a garbage truck, because he will
eat about anything that you put in front of him! As you can see,
Petric has found a spot in our hearts, and that spot will always be
there.
