My
name is Pancho and I am a three year-old pied male cockatiel. I live
with my human mama and daddy and grandpa in Denver, Colorado, along with
two dachshunds. Who needs a cat in our house, because I meow just like
one! In fact, I like to meow whenever anyone comes home or over to visit
just to greet them. I also like to laugh with my people when they watch
TV. When my mama puts me to bed, then I make kitty purring sounds for
her. I like to imitate the sounds I hear and whenever someone picks up a
Kleenex, I hold onto the cage bar with my beak and make nose-blowing
sounds along with them. Everyone must like it when I do that, because
they always laugh and that makes me laugh too! It's also fun to imitate
when my people zip up their coats or my mama zips her purse.
I am a special bird because I am very musical! Although I do say,
"pretty bird" and "pretty Pancho," "head
rub", "knock knock", "night night" and a few
other phrases, my favorite thing to do is to whistle! My mama is a
musician and she taught me to always do a nice vibrato when I whistle,
and to even do arpeggios and trills! My favorite tunes to whistle are
"Andy Griffith Theme," "Rudolph the Red Nosed
Reindeer," "Some Enchanted Evening," "Volare"
and sometimes I even make up my own medleys of all of them! And even
better, I love to bob my head up and down and tap the beat with my beak
on the cage while I whistle. I even make up many tunes of my own! I
wonder what songs my mama is getting ready to teach me next? I guess I
will have to sit on the piano keys now and wait for my music lesson!
