||Two and a half years old|
||New Hampshire, USA|
is Mel, our 2.5 year old, four-foot-long, female iguana. Mel is
one of three permanent residents and currently one foster iguana who
we share our home with. Mel knows her name, will come when called and
likes to bask in the bay window in our living room and take long warm
baths in our old claw foot bath tub. We adopted Mel six months ago from
a family that could not longer take care of her. Mel is also one of
the stars of a website devoted to promoting proper iguana care and to
help eradicate the huge problem of misinformation when it comes to
iguanas and their care. She is a strict vegan (no animal protein or
dairy of any kind) and enjoys snacking on homemade cranberry bread
from time to time. Mel is very friendly and loves to meet new people.
In the coming months, she will be traveling with us to help teach
others how to properly care for their iguanas.
