This
is Fred. Fred is a Catalina Macaw, He is about five years old, he
was one of my father's birds. My father passed last year of cancer and
I purchased five of his birds from him before his passing, Because he
was too stubborn to accept my money as a gift. Any way back to Fred.
Catalina Macaws Are a hybrid cross between, a Scarlet Macaw and a Blue
and Gold Macaw. This guy thinks he rules the world. He is also my
doorman. His cage is situated near the front door. He greets everyone
with a very loud "HI," or Hello. Being the intelligent bird
that he is, when we are talking to guests about to leave as we
approach the front door Fred very loudly says "Bye Bye." He
has a vocabulary somewhere in the neighborhood of about 50 words
(conservatively), we have never really counted!
