Hi
there, everyone. My name is Critter. I live in my cage that is in
my beautiful home in Tampa, Florida. I live with my boy, Robert, his
Mom, Lynda, and their family. They are my two most favorite people. I
guess there isn't too much special about me, except for who and what I
am. I'm a Sugar Glider, native to Australia. In the outback we live in
the wild and our color is more brown, so that we can blend in with our
surroundings. Sugar Gliders like me, are raised to be tame and have a
grey color.
I love to eat all sorts of fruits and vegetables. My personal
favorites include watermelon, broccoli, and apples. My favorite source
of protein are meal worms. Although we are nocturnal animals I still
like to get up and play with my boy when he gets home from school. I
enjoy having all sorts of toys in my cage from tree branches that I
can climb on to hamster wheels that I can run in circles on. I also
like to run around the house in my little plastic ball chasing after
my two golden retrievers, but in the picture I'm playing with a
Pokemon ball. They are so fun to chase. I also enjoy jumping. My body
is built for just that sort of play. I will jump from one person or
place to another. My nails let me catch on to things, but they don't
hurt my people. You have to keep them trimmed weekly or I will start
to get stuck in the fabric of your shirt. I love to climb inside your
shirt or pockets and just sleep there when I'm all played out.
I'm sure a lot of people have Gliders like me, but when I was by the
computer with my boy, we only found four sugar gliders that have been
Pet of the Day. Help me spread the word of how great us sugar gliders
