Patty
was left on our doorstep by her mother. Patty was approximately three months old when we
discovered her on the back porch with Toby our large black cat. Patty
had to be bottle fed for the next few months. She grew up going to
work with me everyday so that she would get regular feedings. The
office personnel loved her. Patty had the run of the house and was
litter box trained. When my husband and I would go out of town Patty
would travel with us. She visited people all over the state of Texas
and even went to the Formula races at the brick yard in Indiana.
Opossums only have a life span of approximately two years if they are
lucky. Patty died with cancer November 14, 2000. I still miss her very
much. When you see the attached you will know that beauty is truly in
the eye of the beholder. I hope you see the love in those big black
eyes as I did.
