Little Fu,
approximately six months old was found wandering at
twilight on a neighbor's lawn. As we drove past I laughed at their
"lawn ornament" until it moved. I screamed to stop the car
jumped out and he came right to me. Turns out he was hanging around
the neighborhood. No one claimed him and it is their loss. We knew
absolutely nothing about rabbits and the Pet of the Day forum gave us
lots of good advice on where to find information on bunnies. I,
however, thought he was a she! I had another look and realized he was
a lot younger than expected and hit puberty after we adopted him.
We took Pumpkin, two years old, with the intention of having her
spayed and returning her to her owner. The former owner could not
afford to have her spayed and was not allowed to keep her indoors. In
her first year she had at least two litters of kittens that died of
exposure. During her recovery we fell in love with her and offered to
keep her.
Fu has given us so much pleasure in the short time that we have him.
We had no idea that rabbits can be so responsive to people and other
animals. We have three dogs and two other cats and he was totally
unafraid of us or them.
