Hazel
is one of my three rabbits and most energetic of them all. I named
her after a character in the novel, "Watership Down," by
Richard Adams. She eats almost all the time, and when I place a bowl of
food out for the three rabbits, Hazel is the one who carries the bowl
away so she can have all the food. Even with eating all this food, she
still maintains great shape. Every morning, we release her from our
outdoor hutch, and catch her in the evening. She is always the hardest
to catch, and it once took me one hour to catch Hazel. She makes funny
poses at times, and licks your hand only if have food for her. She digs
at every chance she can. Once she even made an eight-foot burrow. She
never produced a litter, but she just likes to hide there. This is what
makes Hazel so special.
