Pippin
is a Major Mitchell cockatoo who lives in Tasmania, Australia.
Pippin lives in cockatoo cottage, separated from our living room by a
sliding window. She loves corn and rose hips and, like most Majors,
she's very set in her ways. She preens my husband's beard, but even
after three years she will let me scratch her head only occasionally. She
knows I'm female too! This carries over with our son and daughter. She
loves our son, ignores our daughter. Not that it matters; she's a beauty
