Beauty
is a great pony. She has been awesome in every show and has
always earned us a rosette. But most importantly, we have a special
bond with each other. When I fist got Beauty, she was nasty. Her old
owners let her get away with lots. But I stayed glued to the saddle on
her, no matter how powerful the buck, how fast the gallop or how
terrifying the rear, I showed Beauty that her tricks were powerless to
shake me.
After two frustrating and interesting months, she started to trust me,
to go well and not see riding as a game. Five months after that, I was
showing her, winning and placing in many jumping classes. This picture
is the third show she went in, we placed second. Now, I am too big for
Beauty, and she's not as spirited as before. I've bought a new horse,
but Beauty isn't alone. She now has a bay colt by her side, three
months old. He's Welsh X Hanoverian X Thoroughbred, and will grow
quite big, I hope. We called him Handsome, for he's just as beautiful
as his dam.
