Method
is the third of three brothers, all named after an actuarial
calculation model - the "Bornhuetter-Ferguson Method" (my husband is an
actuary). Bornhuetter and Ferguson turned on Method and attacked him, so
he now lives in a separate hutch with an elderly female called Alison,
with whom he gets along very well.
Method was a very shy pig at first, and would put his head down as if to
hide his eyes and brace one foot out forward, as if to say "Make it go
away!" This was terribly endearing. Due to his separate housing he has
become very tame indeed, and loves to be scratched. He head butts my
hand if I stop stroking him. I sometimes bring him indoors and lie on
the sofa with him on my chest, and he falls asleep making chuckling
noises to himself. Method has silly markings and a funny face and is a
very talkative pig. Here he is, plonked onto a tea-towel for the camera
like a lump of dough: I'm a great fan of guinea pigs!
