Our
horse's name is Ismaiilia ... she is a sixteen-year-old Arabian
mare. We live in Virginia and this is my brother and my first horse.
Mom and Dad used to have horses before we were born, then they
concentrated on us... now we are all getting back into the
"horse thing" together as a family. She is special because,
since she has been in a herd for along time, it sometimes takes awhile
to "catch" her, but every time we go to the pasture, it gets
easier and easier. She seems to be watching for us and comes over as
if to tell the other horses, "These are my people." She is a
kind and gentle mare, and is patient while we are learning. One time I
was riding her around the barn area and my dad was walking along in
front of her - he ran ahead and got around the side of the barn, she
picked up to a trot and went to find him... that was fun!!
