What
makes this bird so special? Wow, there's so much. I'll begin with
how I got to know Tiki. I found the poor thing almost dead from
starvation (will not disclose where or who was responsible). Worried
he would not live, a friend and I gave him some formula and took him
to the vet ASAP. He was underweight, cold, and the doctor found
evidence of parasites. On top of that, his head bobbed constantly,
begging for food. He was just a baby. I knew that this bird had an
incredible will to live, but his progress in a matter of hours was
astonishing.
I took the bundle home and purchased him, caring for him since. I
stayed up all night giving him medication and feeding him, giving him
all that he had lacked for so long. Soon he was making progress and
gaining weight. His head stopped bobbing, and he turned into a playful
little bird after almost one entire month spent nursing him back to
health. What makes him so amazing is that despite the starvation, he
has turned into one great little bird. Despite his mental handicap
from the neglect, he has learned to play and is starting to mimic.
Tiki is developing a sense of curiosity that surpassed all my
expectations for him.
Last but not least, this bird has not a mean bone in his body. He is
incredibly gentle and loves to be handled and played with. Although he
is still a baby, the only thing this bird has ever attacked is his
toy, lol :) The small picture is within hours of coming home, and the
larger is what he currently looks like. After going through so much
and bouncing back like he did, he is one incredible bird :)
