This
is Fred, an African clawed frog. Fred was bought from a pet store
in Minnesota five years ago as a very small dwarf frog. But Fred grew
(and turned out to be a she)! After Fred was over three inches long
and tried to swallow her tankmate we realized that Fred was not really
a dwarf at all.
Fred, being a frog, is very useful during housefly season. Fred and
others like her can supposedly live for 20 years or more and we're
glad to have her in our family.
