My
bird's name is Berry. She is a one year old Blue and Gold Macaw, and
we live in Madison, Dane County, Wisconsin. It has been a great learning
experience having Berry. We have learned how to play lots of silly
parrot games, such as the game where we hand her a toy, and she drops
it, and we pick it up, and she drops it. It's fun for hours! Her other
hobbies include destroying anything she can get her beak on, and
exploring the new world of flight that she has just discovered! She is
certainly lacking in some discipline, in that she can't believe that we
would ever not want a parrot sitting on us, or nibbling our fingers, or
dive bombing us as we walk by. But she is only one year old, and she is
making some progress. What is really remarkable about her is the
enthusiasm with which she greets everything - whether it be her toys,
her food, a shower, or just a scritch on the head from her family, she
runs into life beak-first and puts her all into everything she does!
