Opal
is a six year old female Moluccan Cockatoo. She is one of the flock
at Rescue Me, an Avian Sanctuary.
Although she has been a chest plucker since a year before her arrival in
1998, Opal has enough personality for a flock of birds. She runs loose
through the offices, turns the music up louder, rearranges all of the
paperwork and helps herself to various snack treats. She displays all of
her feathers and "preaches" to anyone who will listen (and
everyone has to listen!). Opal is also loving and caring. Her best
friend is the sanctuary's Basenji. We are all very lucky and grateful
that Opal has touched our lives.
