This
is our beloved Chinchilla Gerry, he has certainly given us a few
scares over the last few months. He as been with us since he was nine
months old, and is a dearly loved member of our family. Recently he has
lost a considerable amount of weight - and we discovered he has gone
blind. It was touch and go to see if he was still going to be with us,
but we gave him every chance, and after a lot of steroids to boost his
weight and antibiotics for an abscess he had, just recently he has
perked up to the cheeky little man he always was. When he comes out to
play he is full of mischief, under tables, and trying to chew up the
cat's toys - he really is a joy to watch. It would break our hearts to
part with him and our local vet has given us hope and amazing support.
Although he is still blind, he has coped extremely well and adapts by
feeling his way around with his whiskers. He's a wonderful little boy
and we love him very much.
