This
is my gerbil, her name is Stump, and, although obscured in the
photo, you may be able to make out that she only has one forepaw. The
other one was missing when I discovered her. Rather than have her live
her (possibly short) life in a pet store, I purchased her and a sister
for company, and she has lived a full, rich (for a gerbil) life in my
home in Orlando for about two years. Her hobbies include chewing
cardboard and burrowing, and her favorite foods are pumpkin and
sunflower seeds.
