Her
real name is Anastasia but we call her Annie. She hatched on June
29, 1989 which makes her ten years old soon to be eleven. She is a
Double Yellow Head Amazon. In November of 1988 I was working in a Pet
Shop and fell in love with two birds. We purchased them and set them up
to breed. We were told it would probably take about two years before we
would get any babies since, at the time, Amazons were hard to breed. The
following June we had two babies. The whole city heard me scream when
she hatched. Her parents' names are Moshe and Sasha and I decided she
need a Russian Sounding name that reflected the princess that she was so
'Anastasia' It was. She lives in our living room along with six other
Amazons. She is very 'prissy' and acts like she is a princess. She will
always have a special place in my heart as "Baby #1" We also
own a business that manufacturers Bird Toys and she has been a model in
our catalog for the past eleven years.
