I'm
happy to have you meet my horse Tim! My vet estimates his age to be
at least 35 years old, which makes him eligible for senior citizen
discounts on feed! We have been each other's keeper for 25 years now,
but I almost lost him due to a serious kidney/bladder problem about a
month ago. The vet was not at all optimistic due to his advanced age,
so to me his recovery is nothing short of miraculous!
Tim is very smart (with age comes wisdom!) and he enjoys bossing other
horses around. I think he's merely reminding them to respect their
elders. Over the years we have had so much fun together! I taught him
how to pace, which is not a natural gait for most horses. He was always
very agile and quick on his feet; in fact, he promptly bucked me off
when I first rode him - testing me, no doubt! But we've had many years
to develop a mutual trust and respect - I wouldn't trade that for the
world! I also taught him to bow, to count three times with his hoof, and
to shake his head on command. I love him dearly and I'm so thankful
that he is still with me to ring in yet another new year together!
