This
is Sweetie and Willow. Sweetie is a 'Normal' male cockatiel who is
five years old. Willow is a 'White Face' male cockatiel also five years
old. They are absolutely the greatest and a big part of our family. They
both sing a lot of songs, whistle tunes, talk and even recite Hickory
Dickory Dock, the birdy went up the clock! Run the house and
us...partaking in everything we do, plus sharing our meals, watching TV,
going to bed and Must check out my grocery bags when coming home. In
this picture I found them wandering through my Christmas Village having
a Dandy time.
Sweetie was born here, a surprise arrival...on our Anniversary. He has a
flaw in his right cheek patch and it landed up looking like a
heart...thus the name Sweetheart. He was not faring well and we started
hand feeding him a few days later. During this time a friend had a baby
whiteface born who also was not doing well and I decided to feed him as
well and the two were raised together in a basket. Since they needed
extra care and warmth they were with us 24 hours a day. Very quickly they
became so attached to humans that in no time at all they both picked up
the talking and singing. To this day they love to lay down with us and
have a nap or even do housework...ha Never a shopping trip ends
without the two having to go through all our parcels. The one amusing
thing is, one of them likes to suck a favorite little toy...sort of
like a pacifier, and will fall asleep and continue to suck.
