About Us
Harpo, the Pet of the Day
Name: Harpo
Age: Deceased, Nine months old
Gender: Female
Kind: Crested Pekin Duck
Home: Blue Ridge, Georgia, USA

This is Harpo, a crested Pekin duck. Harpo was adopted by our Lhasa Apso, Spec, right from the start. She would follow Spec anywhere, Even when introduced to the rest of the ducks, Harpo preferred Spec. Because of the two laying in our driveway together neighbors started calling our homestead Dog n Duck, which we formally named it Dog n Duck Holler. Even though totally devoted to Spec, Harpo still liked people and the other ducks. She loved to lay under the gardenia bush where her crest looked like another flower on the bush. This also earned her the nickname of Gardenia.

We came home this St. Patrick's Day to find Harpo dead at the young age of nine months. She is fondly remembered and sadly missed by many in our neighborhood. Merry meet, merry part, and merry meet again, Harpo.
