My
mother always wanted a Plumhead, but nowhere could we find a
young, healthy little bird. We looked around for a few months, until
we heard about two young(ish) little Plumheads. We never saw the two
of them together, since we didn't have a choice of which one to pick
(we wanted the youngest). So there he (the breeder said that he's
90% sure it's a male) was, bought on South Africa's second general
election- day, 2 June 1999. We had a lot of suggestions on what to
name him, but since it's my mother's she got to pick his name - and
it didn't take her long to name him Tweety (after that cute little
yellow bird on the TV). On that same afternoon I caught him - he
didn't bite! Since then he only nibbles at me, but bites nobody else.
He likes to play underneath our blankets early in the mornings and
late in the evenings. Although he's my mother's the whole family
plays with him - he's so adorable!
He only eats Eggfood and apples and always gets grumpy when some
cooked food is offered. While Glennie, our baby-Ringneck, gladly
enjoys any cooked food, Tweety just growls and makes weird noises.
He's a very sweet little bird that always enjoys getting attention
and loves to be in the company of someone. He likes to get in under
my mother's warm, cuddly jerseys and spends most of his time being
'heated-up' like that.

our website.
