Sadie
found her way into my home when my neighbor's rabbit died. My
dad gave in and let me keep the little abandoned rabbit our neighbor
had found for me. He felt sorry for me. Sadie was the perfect lady
from the very beginning. My grandpa built a cage for Sadie, before
that she had nowhere to go since we were so unprepared to have a
rabbit. She settled in. But, lo and behold, two weeks later Sadie gave
birth to eight adorable little baby rabbits. We had no idea she was
pregnant, being first time rabbit owners.
Fidget was one of those babies, she was born on August 12, 1997, and
ever since that day has been my favorite baby. She was the runt of
the litter and always being picked on. I convinced my parents to let
me keep her. My bunnies let me confide in them when I'm sad, and are
the perfect companions to go to the park with. My dad jokingly calls
them "brats" but I know he loves them, even when they
"accidentally" rip a paper. For three years now, my bunnies
have given my joy, laughter and have reminded me of what the word
responsibility means. All in all, they are two of my best friends,
even if they can't say so themselves. Visit
