Ginger
is special because all the other babies in her litter died,
and her mother died, and we had to feed her cream in a bottle. She
loved the cream so much that she would run clear across the room to
the bottle to drink the cream. Then, finally, when we weaned her to
food, she got fat and has always loved food more than anything.
When you walk into the room, she comes up to the edge of the cage
nearest you and sits on her hind legs and sniffs and begs for a
treat. When she is out in the open, she will still run clear across
the room for a treat from me, while my other guinea pigs hide! She is
so funny and fat and sweet looking that some people think she is a
stuffed animal when you are holding her, and she moves suddenly and
boy, are they surprised! When you hold her, she likes to twist her
body around, and chomp her teeth, as though she was very busy. I have
entered her in the Nevada State Fair and she won some ribbons. She
just has the sweetest personality, I can't explain it. She is my
favorite out of all eight pets.
