is Speedy, an African Spurred Tortoise (geochelone sulcata). He
is about six months old, he will grow to be very big. He will grow to
be over 30 inches long and weigh over 100 pounds. He will reach full
size in about 20 years, his life expectance is anywhere from 80 to
100 years old. He is native to Africa but is living in Rhode Island.
His personality is very friendly and he loves to be pet and touched.
His favorite activities are eating, eating and more eating. He is an
herbivore (vegetarian). He is so cute, but growing fast - he eats all
day long if I let him. He eats only plants, mostly clovers,
dandelions, hibiscus and zuchinni.
