About Us
Rusty Bucket, the Pet of the Day
Name: Rusty Bucket
Age: Three years old
Gender: Male
Kind: Domestic Ferret
Home: Kansas, USA

Rusty is an older male ferret who was rescued from an exotic animal auction. When he came to me he was very afraid of humans and especially human hands. Rusty has a physically damaged right eye from human abuse. His eye is enlarged and blind. Even though Rusty's first years were of abuse and neglect, he is now a very loving special ferret. Each morning he gets up to greet me as I do morning chores. He will come over to me, put his little paws around my ankle to get my attention then he'll lay down on his back to ask for me to pet his belly. He checks on me several times throughout the evening as well - I guess he wants to make sure I'm still there and I'm o.k. Rusty is so very gentle and his loving joyful nature makes him a welcome part of our family. My heart aches for his past life and all those that still face abuse/neglect. I am so thankful that Rusty is with us.
