Our
classroom pet is named Abby to help us remember that
she is an abyssinian guinea pig. She has a mohawk down her
back. When we pet her down along her back, she purrs. We
give her vitamins every day from an eyedropper. At recess,
we take her out of her cage and ride her around the room in
a toy truck or boat. She is weighs about one pound, twelve
ounces. We have a record book and weigh her almost every
day. We are allowed to take Abby home over the weekend to
baby sit her. She has become a part of our class and we
love her very much! Abby the guinea pig is owned by Mrs.
Taylor's second graders at Saltsburg Elementary.
