Duke
is three-year-old male. He is very sweet and gentle for being so
young. I have only been with him for about three and half months, but
it has seemed like forever. We came together at a sad occasion. When
my last horse Brandy, a 23 year old mare, died of colic, a friend
offered to lease Duke to me when I was ready to ride another horse. I
took the offer, and I am very happy with the choice. Since the day I
got him he has been a great horse and a best friend. I don't see Duke
every day, but I do go out to ride him every Saturday. We are
involved in a Mounted Girl Scout Ranch. The girls range from thirteen
to eighteen years old, and they each ride their horse each Saturday.
Every girl comes out from 9:30am to 2:30pm. I have been going out
horseback riding every Saturday for the past year and a half. Our
official name is God's Green Acre Ranch. There is over 40 girls in
the ranch. Duke still has a little baby left in him, so he just loves
to take off galloping in the field. There is nothing he enjoys more
then running. But because he is still childish, he just loves to try
and grab the lead rope in his mouth when I am leading him around, and
try to lead himself in a playful manner. It is very cute, and so is
he.
