This
is name is Basil. He is four-year-old budgie (parakeet) and
lives in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. I got Basil when he was
about two months old from a pet store. Basil was my first budgie and
since that first encounter in the pet store, we have become great
mates :-)
So what makes my Basil special? Being a very sociable bird, he loves
company. His favorite people in the world are me, and my mother.
Basil will sit for hours talking to himself saying things like, Hello
Basil Time to put the washing out Its hot today Zoe's coming home
today How about some food? My flatmates taught him to swear when he
was younger, though now, like all teenagers, he has grown out of that
stage :-) Recently I have acquired three guinea pigs which are kept near
his cage. Guinea pigs like to squeak a lot, especially when they are
hungry, and Basil has started to imitate this squeak now :-) Basil
also loves to sit on the couch with me and either watch tv or listen
to music. His favorite artists are easy listening type artists, he
hates anything heavy metal. As you can see, Basil is a very special
bird.
