This
is Cali, an Indian Ringneck Parakeet. She is a blue mutation, 15
months old. Cali is the light of my life. She is loving, funny,
intelligent, beautiful, and says "I love you" and sings
"Happy Bird Day." She wants to be with me all the time and
cuddles up at night when we watch television. She is a very special
bird and brings me much joy.
I saw her at a bird show just over a year ago. She was sitting on top
of the cage and I "knew" she was my baby right then and
there. I bought her at nine weeks of age. Her clutchmates were the
normal green color. Blue mutations are not as rare as they used to
be, but you still don't see a whole lot of them. I'd never had a
ringneck before and had only seen one other blue one in a bird store.
Other than parakeets and one tiel years ago, I've never had parrots
before. They are something else!! And far more intelligent than I'd
ever imagined!
