Hypnos
is the sweetest little parakeet ever! He likes to chatter into
bells. He gives kisses on command--if he feels like it. He likes to
sing along to U2's Joshua Tree--but that's the only CD he really
likes. He surprised me one day when I was sitting back to relax, all
the birds were chirping and making joyful noises. I heard someone
talking--I thought it was one of the baby greys that I was feeding at
the time, but it was Hyppie. Hi. Hey baby. Pretty bird.
What'cha doing? Whatz up? Hello pretty bird. HIYA! Hey there pretty
baby!
Makes any Mom proud.
When I come into the room, usually the first thing I do is greet
everyone with Hi, how are you? Sometimes, What'cha
doing? Both greetings, Hypnos has learned. Then of course, since
he's such a pretty bird, I tell him so. What I suspect he did, was
teach himself how to talk listening to himself in a bell. He sticks
his head in the bell at the bottom of one of his toys and chatters to
himself.
