Sadie
is special to me in many ways. Of course, her achievements in the breed
ring and whelping box are very rewarding but her companionship the past 11
years means a great deal more. Like all our boxers, Sadie shares the highs
and lows of our lives. She is a devoted friend and truly the "alpha" member
of our canine household. She raised her own puppies and is now helping to
raise her grandchildren with the same sweet grace and her influence on her
offspring is unmistakable. Pictured with her is her granddaughter, Scarlett,
who was 4 weeks old when this photo was taken.
I love Sadie most in the middle of the night when I wake up and hear her
snoring softly beside my bed. That snore gives me comfort and always brings a
smile to my face as I fall back to sleep.
