Chester
came down our chimney
during Hurricane Fran over a year ago. When I first found him I tried to
put him on our tree outside. He cried like a little baby. I knew them I was
in for the long run. I took him with me to work in my pocket for the first
month. He would sleep most of the time. I would take him out and set him on
my lap and feed him every two hours from a hampster feeder. I had to give
him pedialite (a nutrient that alot of parents give their baby's).We kept
him in a cage for the first 8 months taking him out periodically to let him
play on the trees in our back yard. As soon as the weather permitted we let
him live outside. He knows my boyfriend and myself as his mom and dad and
comes when we call. He is now full grown and very healthy. We feed him
every morning, sunflower seeds, apples and assorted nuts. He plays like a
kitten. He nibbles on our hands, rolls around on our arms and lets me hold
him on my chest. He will also jump from my boyfriend to me when he is playing.
We hope to have him for his whole life span, which is normally about 5 years,
but with the care we give him he will probably outlive us.
