We
bought Basil when he was a tiny mite of under 8 weeks of age. He
looked like his clothes were too big for him (he still does - even at 37
kilo [82 pounds]!!).
When we emigrated to Australia from the UK two years ago, we had no
doubts that Basil was to come with us. After all, he is a special
member of our family. He actually flew out a week before we did. We
knew he would be in quarantine for 30 days, so we timed it so we could
have him in our new home before Xmas! So, after a long flight from
London, and thirty days in quarantine in Melbourne, he took one more
flight from Melbourne to Adelaide on Xmas eve 1995. What a reunion that
was!!
He is now settled here in Australia. He has a new friend - a boxer
bitch called Sybil (what else!), and maybe one day they will produce a
little Manuel or Polly - who knows?!
