About Us
Wally and Sid, the Pet of the Day
Name: Wally, Sid
Age: Four, One year old
Gender: Male
Kind: Tabby
Home: San Francisco, California, USA

These are our cats Wally and Sid Catlett (named after a jazz drummer from the 1950's). But they are so close that they are usually photographed together. Wally is four, a brown tabby who had been abused before we adopted him from the SPCA in San Francisco. It took a lot of patience and love, but he is much less afraid now than he used to be. Sid really brought him out of his shell, too. Sid is an eight-month-old red tabby; we adopted him from some friends whose cat had had a litter. From the moment he entered our home, Sid was completely happy with us and with his new friend Wally.

Most cats take a while to adjust to a new friend, but within three days, Wally was washing Sid as if he were his mom. Sid even tried to nurse, but Wally drew the line at that! They often curl up together with their paws around each other, and like to play and eat out of the same bowl. Whenever Sid does something silly, like get himself shut in someone's closet, Wally will cry and pace until we find Sid and let him out.

So that's the story, a happy ending for Wally who now has an adoring friend, and for us who get endless hours of entertainment from our two cats.
