Bali
is special to me because she was born here to Sandi and Matzi,
at two weeks she and her brother Bocchi were brought to the house,
before their eyes were open and I hand raised them. Which meant
getting up every three hours to feed them their milk. At night they
slept in a cage until one night they decided that since the dogs and
cats, whom they had become friends with, didn't have to get in a cage
at night, they didn't either. They ran from me till I gave up. So
from that point on, they slept in bed with me. My bed was quite
crowded some nights, two foxes, two dogs and several cats all
snuggled up together. No room for me though.
Eventually Bali and her brother Bocchi had to go outside. Foxes can
be very destructive. We built a special fox house, walk in with a
shingled roof and inside two wooden sleeping quarters. They made the
adjustment just fine. Bali had six babies (three girls and three
boys) about ten months ago. She is a very good mother, too. When I
go out to feed them, Bali loves to be held and hugged and kissed and
she loves to sit on my shoulders when I sit down on their wooden
houses to visit with them. And her most favorite thing in the world
is belly rubs....All I have to do is say, "Bali, belly
rubs?" and she comes running over and lays down on her back so I
can give her belly rubs.
She is very special to me because she is so loving, but her brother
is also.... This picture is a close up of her shortly after she had
her babies... She looks pretty tired... While she was resting. Bocchi
was with the babies taking care of them for her... She is my sweetie
pie.... Hope you enjoy her as much as I do.
